Description:
Comprehensive collection of ephemera relating to Staff Sergeant Major Thomas Arthur Bendall. He retired after serving in the Boer War but re-enlisted at the start of WW1 and died in 1915. The lot includes personal photos from childhhood as well as many items relating to his service including his Warrant, Accounts, and various certificates attained during his service. Lot also includes the original card tube which contained the King's scroll of condolence for those killed in action. Very few of these original tubes survive to this day. Lastly the lot includes the Death Plaque awarded to SSM Bendall in original sleeve with covering note. A very comprehensive and personal lot.
