An interesting collection of material relating to Major B. Daniels. Parmelia Race to commemorate the first settlers going to Western Australia 1979, 9th overall. Includes from this race the bell from the "Pegasus of Arne" - The Plaque presented by the Cruising Association of South Africa and the Royal Cape Yacht Club and two copies of the Rory Cape award awarded to Major B Daniels in 1979 following completion of the Parmelia Race. Major Daniels built the 38ft Yacht with his wife Ruth. Pegaus of Arne plaque and photograph relating to the race included. Also included in the lot is a Plaque from the Round ireland Race from 1975, A certificate for completing "The Devizes to Westminster Canoe Race 1967" - Senior Class - completed the course of 125 miles in 23 Hours and 9 minutes. Finally two certificates of competence: Yachtmaster and Radiotelephony and Authority to operate granted by the secretary of state for the home department.
